A transition

(Author's note: I'm turning this blog into more of a beauty blog, specifically for nails, outfits, and shoes. I'll still be posting reviews and updates about my life, but I'll be limiting the Instagram photos, and rather I'll utilize my DSLR!)

I'm a newfound lacquerista!!!

Alright, first of all, I bite my nails like crazy. I have for as long as I can remember. I know, all you lacqueristas out there are cringing and shaking your head at me. For the last two years I've had a love/relationship with acrylic nails. I love them. They're like an extension of my fingers. Mine never snapped off. They made me feel so feminine and girly. However, they destroy my nails. So a few months ago I ripped off my last set and I've vowed to not go back to them. I've dealt with my ugly chewed up nails since then. Slapping on a coat of glittery nail polish does nothing to stop me. It's almost like a compulsion!

I'm proud to say I haven't bit my nails in two weeks, which is a feat for somebody like me.

You might be wondering how I've managed to stop after almost thirteen years. Sheer willpower? Tabasco sauce? Manicure? Nope. None of those.

Press-on nails.

Yes, you heard right.
Those silly nails that pop off after a day or two that look incredibly tacky?
Yeah, those things.

As far as I'm concerned, they're great!! They keep me from biting my natural nails, they stay on my nails really well, and they make me feel pretty. I'm hoping that within a few months I'll have long, healthy, hard as nails natural nails, but if I don't, I have my lovely press-ons too!

I'll admit, I'm new to this nail stuff, but I'm hoping I'll get the hang of it!
